Raymond Jerry Linn - Class Of 1938

Raymond Jerry Linn, son of Claude (1883-1953) and Kate (Emmer) (1891-1993) Linn, was born 23 July 1918 Lansing, Ingham County, Michigan.  He graduated in 1938 from Okemos High School.  Raymond enlisted in the US Army 28 May 1942 and was honorably discharged, with five bronze stars, on 28 September 1945.

Raymond Jerry Linn, technician fifth grade with the fourth signal company at Camp Gordon, Ga., the son of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Linn of Okemos, is home on a 12-day furlough.

Raymond married Mary Elizabeth (Gogar) Beckhorn 19 November 1949 Lansing.

Age 67, died August 29, 1985 in Battle Creek, born July 23, 1918 in Lansing.  Mr. Linn was a veteran of World War II, receiving 5 Bronze Stars, Bronze Arrowhead, and Good Conduct Ribbon.  He was also a member of the American Legion Post #269, Haslett.  He is survived by his wife, Mary; 2 daughters, Barbara Tremblay, and Delores Mcconnell, both of Lansing; 1 son, Richard Beckhorn, also of Lansing; 8 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; mother, Kattie Linn of Okemos; 2 brothers, Richard Linn of Pewamo and LeRoy Linn of Lansing; 3 sisters, Marie Theusch of Lansing, Cecelia Zydron of Chicago, and Frances Linn of Okemos; and several nieces and nephews.  Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 11:30 a.m. at the Gorsline-Runciman Lansing Chapel with the Rev. Francis J. Faraci of The Church of the Resurrection officiating.  Interment will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.  Military graveside services will be by the American Legion Post #269, Haslett.

Raymond died 29 August 1985 Battle Creek, Calhoun County, Michigan.  Mary, born 9 August 1922, died 16 June 1997.  Mary was interred Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, DeWitt, Clinton County.
