Dr. Don Sheridan Mueller
(November 4, 1927 - January 8, 2015)
Fort Gratiot- Dr. Don Sheridan Mueller, age 87, formerly of Carsonville, went to heaven Thursday January 8, 2015, following an extended illness.
Don was born on November 4, 1927 in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of the late Rev. Dr. Don and Selma Mueller. In 1947 he married Vivan Santrock Mueller. Together they enjoyed 46 years of marriage. She sadly preceded him in death on October 27, 1993.
Dr. Mueller was a graduate of Baldwin-Wallace and Mount Union Colleges, the University of Michigan, Michigan State University and Clayton University.
Don was a devoted educator for 47 years who taught in Benton Harbor and Okemos. He was the High School Principal at Dansville and DeWitt. He retired after serving as Superintendent of Schools at Carsonville-Port Sanilac for 27 years. Dr. Mueller was member of MEA, NEA, the Michigan Association of School Administrators and the River Area Superintendent’s Association.
Don was active in the Carsonville United Methodist Church , Port Sanilac Baptist Church and the Colonial Woods Missionary Church.
He has two children, Carl F. Mueller of Fort Gratiot and Cathy A. Galligan (Mueller) and husband Alexander Galligan of Deckerville. There are three grandchildren Veronica (Nicci) Susan Hendrix (Mueller) of Dallas, Tyler Santrock Mueller and Coltin Jerome Mueller of Fort Gratiot. Don’s great grandson Desmond Jones Hendrix lives in Dallas.
“Dads” family would enjoy you company at the Pomeroy Funeral Home in Carsonville, Wednesday January 14, 2015 from 2-9 PM. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 AM Thursday at the Port Sanilac Baptist Church, with visiting at the church from 10-11. Pastor Paul Slivka will officiate.
A special memorial will be created for students of Carsonville-Port Sanilac High School.
