Christena Jean Schram (1946 Speech, English,1957-1962 Latin) VIEW PROFILE

Christena Jean Schram (1946 Speech, English,1957-1962 Latin)

Christena Jean Schram, daughter of Timothy K. and Williamina (Ross) Schram, was born 22 December 1905 in Lambton, Ontario, Canada.  The unusual spelling "Christena" was recorded on her birth certificate and is also engraved on her tombstone.  Numerous State Journal newspaper articles misspelled her name.  Christena must have often been frustrated by the constant correcting of her name.

Timothy and Williamina married 28 September 1904 in Middlesex, Ontario, Canada.  To them 2 daughters were born, Christena in 1905 and Johanna Janette in 1907.  Timothy was a tailor by trade.  The family moved from Canada to Michigan about 1910.

Timothy, born 6 October 1864, died in Ingham County, Michigan 24 October 1942.  Williamina, born 2 August 1866, died 9 May 1960 in Ingham County.

Johanna, born 27 March 1907, worked for 26 years at the East Lansing State Bank.  She never married and died 25 June 1966, Ingham County.

Christena worked in the Okemos school system for many years.
