Milburn "Mil" C. Amundsen of Okemos, Michigan, age 79, died on July 25, 2024 surrounded by his family.
Mil was a member of St. Martha Parish and the Knights of Columbus. He was dedicated to his wife, Mary; his son, Ted; his daughter-in-law, Steph; and his beloved granddaughter, Penelope. His greatest joy was spending time with his family. He held both bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Michigan State University. A lifelong Spartan fan, Mil could often be seen at the games with his family or cheering from home in his favorite chair.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Mary; his son, Ted; his daughter-in-law, Steph; granddaughter, Penelope; and feline companion, Charley. He is also survived by brothers and sisters-in-law, Linda and Peary Pearson, Jim and Elaine Yanz, Jerry and Marcia Yanz, and Barbara Amundsen; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, August 1, 2024 at 12:00 PM, with a one-hour prior visitation from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, at St. Martha Parish, 1100 W Grand River Ave., Okemos, MI 48864. Following Mass, the Rite of Committal will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, 2600 E Mt Hope Ave., Lansing, MI 48910.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mil's memory may be made to the Capital Area Humane Society, 7095 W Grand River Ave., Lansing, MI 48906.
