SMITH, MAEANNETTE

MASON

How fitting that on All Saint's Day, November 1, 1997, MaeAnnette Smith went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Bon on May 6 1919, in Rensselaer, IN, to Guy and Mary (McElfresh) Loveless, MaeAnnette grew up in Okemos, MI, and graduated from Okemos High School.  In 1940, she married Robert Smith and, on their wedding day, they moved to their farm in Vevay Township where they nurtured their daughters, Jolinda (Paul) Fulton and LeeAnn (Harvey) Cater, both of Mason, MI.  Robert died in 1991 (newspaper typo) and MaeAnnette generously gave time, energy, and education funds to her six grandchildren, Robert (Janine) Blatt, East Jordan; Stacey (Duane) Pollman, Leslie; Alicia (Jason) Harlow, Japan; A1C Tara Fulton, Luke A.F.B., AZ; Danielle Lee, Kalamazoo; and Brianna Fulton, Mason.  She was especially proud of having eight great grandchildren and four step-great grandchildren, all of whom survive her.  For MaeAnnette, generosity was not just a word but a way of life, and she gave her tie and energy to many charities.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 5, 10 a.m. at the Gorsline-Runciman Co. Ball-Dunn Chapel, 621 S. Jefferson St., Mason, with the Rev. Randy Royston, Pastor of the Charlotte Church of God, officiating.  Interment will follow in Leek Cemetery, Alaiedon Township.
