Alfred Michael "E. J. " Or "Al" Lamb - Class Of 1944

Alford Michael "E. J." Lamb, son of Clyde A. (1892-1939) and Rose (McMann) (1903-1946) Lamb, was born 9 March 1924 Lake City, Florence County, South Carolina.  E. J.'s father was a veteran of World War I.  E. J. attended Okemos High School with the Class of 1944 but left to join the US Army 18 February 1943.  He served his country for the duration of World War II and was honorably discharged in November 1945. 

E. J. married Janet Lombard.  Kathryn Janet Lombard, born 7 July 1924, was a graduate of Ithaca High School.  E. J., after military service, was employed by and retired from General Motors in Lansing, Ingham County, Michigan.  He died 21 April 2006 Ingham County.  Janet died 14 May 2010.  E. J. and Janet were interred Oak Plain Cemetery, Shaftsburg, Shiawassee County, Michigan.

ALFORD MICHAEL LAMB

PERRY, MI

Age 82, passed away Friday, April 21, 2006 at Sparrow Hospital.  Graveside services will be held at Oak Plains Cemetery in Shaftsburg on Monday, April 24, 2006 at 11:00 a.m.  The family will receive friends at Watkins Brothers Funeral Home in Perry on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.  Mr. Lamb was born March 9, 1924, the son of Clyde and Lucinda (McMann) Lamb.  (According to Rose McMann Lamb's obituary her mother's name, grandmother to E. J., was Lucinda.)  He served in the Army during WWII and was retired from General Motors in Lansing after 30 years of service.  He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Kathryn Janet, his sons, Rodney, Steven (Linda), Kevin, Jeff (Jan) and daughter, Lura Jill (Mark) Bowers, all of Perry; 12 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter; 3 sisters, Norma (Sam) Campbell of Lansing, MI, Lucille (Dean) Bennett of Charlotte, MI and Elizabeth Player of Lake City, SC; and many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by 2 sons, Robin and Kris and a granddaughter, Sara.
