Robert Allan Osborne - Class Of 1944

Robert Allen Osborne, son of George A. (1896-1986) and Gladys (Hardy) (1895-1975) Osborne, was born 8 July 1924 Lansing, Ingham County, Michigan.  Robert attended Okemos High School with the class of 1944 but left to join the US Navy 1 January 1942.  After honorable discharge in 1944 Robert married Norma Jean Fritz 9 September 1948 Steuben County, Indiana. 

Robert was a farmer and worked at Capitol Tool and Die for many years.  Norma Jean, born 17 May 1925, died 7 May 1980.  Robert died 11 March 2010.  Robert and Norma were interred Leek Cemetery, Okemos, Ingham County.

ROBERT A. OSBORNE

WILLIAMSTON

Robert was born on July 8, 1924 in Lansing, MI to George and Gladys Osborne.

Robert served in the United States Navy during WWII.  He retired from Capitol Tool and Die after 25 years.  He was raised on a farm and was a farmer at heart.  He enjoyed auto-racing especially NASCAR and The World of Outlaw's.  Robert was a member of the All Color Antique Tractor Club of Williamston.  He passed away on March 11, 2010, at the age of 85.  Robert was preceded in death by his wife Norma Jean and his parents.

He is survived by his sons, Dan (Marlene) and David (Julie) Osborne; grandchildren, Tami Osborne, Carrie (Jay) Hill and Joy (Devon) Marshall; great-grandchildren, Alyson Woods, Aubrey and Charlotte Hill and Dwayne and Arianna Marshall.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 14, from 3-6 p.m. at the Gorsline-Runciman Funeral Homes, 205 E. Middle St., Williamston.  Funeral services will be held Monday, March 15, 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Douglas A. Bradshaw, officiating.
