Bethany B. Smith, daughter of Alonzo P. (1902-1967) and Nellie Alma Margaret (Tisdale) (1904-1999) Smith, was born 2 June 1926 Lansing, Ingham County, Michigan.  Bethany graduated in 1944 from Okemos High School.  She married Lewis A Schoby Jr. 23 February 1946 Lansing.

SCHOBY, JR. - Mrs. Lewis A. Schoby was Miss Bethany B. Smith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alonzo P. Smith, Route 1, East Lansing, before her marriage February 23 to Pfc. Lewis A. Schoby, jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis A. Schoby, 4575 West Dell road.  Rev. Fr. Leo Kalinowski performed the double ring ceremony at St. Casimir's church.

Lewis, born 15 June 1925, was a World War II Marine Corps veteran, having served 15 months in the Pacific Theater on Midway Island.  He and Bethany divorced June 1970 Orange County, California.  Lewis died 29 December 2006 California and was interred Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside County, California.

Bethany's parents died in California.  Bethany returned to her maiden name and died as Bethany B. Smith 26 March 2017 California.  She and her parents were interred Green Hills Memorial Park, Rancho Palos Verdes, Los Angeles County, California.
