Arthur Theodore "Ted" Evert Jr., son of Arthur Theodore "Ted" (1906-1951) and Lucile Elizabeth (McKane) (1912-1994) Evert, was born 20 October 1931, Ingham County, Michigan.  Ted's father, also called Ted, graduated from Okemos High School in 1924.  Ted Jr. graduated from Okemos in 1949.

Ted Jr. continued his education at Michigan State College (now Michigan State University) were he graduated in 1953.  He married Alice Margaret Johnson in June 1957.  Ted was employed, according a copy of a 1960's  Detroit Free Press newspaper, as a comptroller of motel/hotel chain.  He and Alice celebrated 51 years of marriage and 2 children before his death 12 June 2009, Dearborn, Wayne County, Michigan.

ARTHUR T. EVERT, JR.

Died June 12, 2009.

He was the beloved husband of Alice and dear father of Barbara (William) Wilson and Michael.  He was also survived by two granddaughters.  He was the brother of William and nephew of Beverly McKane.

Funeral Wednesday 1:00 p.m. at the Dearborn Chapel of the Howe-Peterson Funeral Home, 22546 Michigan Ave., Dearborn.  Memorials may go to the charity of one's choice.
