Duane Arnold Randall - Class Of 1953

Duane Arnold Randall

Duane Arnold Randall, son of Clarence G. (1903-1994) and Anna (Pichel) (1899-1982) Randall, was born 20 November 1934, Ingham County, Michigan.  Duane's mother was a widow with 2 young sons when she married Clarence in 1926.  Clarence was a US Army veteran.

Duane graduated in 1953 from Okemos High School.  He entered the US Army in 1953.  Duane's two half-brothers, Milton and Wilbur Buchanan, were World War II veterans. Duane served from 1953-1956.

RANDALL - Army Pvt. Duane A. Randall, 19, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Randall, 4393 Dobie rd., Okemos, recently joined the army's communications zone in Toul, France.  The communications zone units man major U.S. supply installations and depots in France and transports men and supplies from French ports to American forces in Germany.  Pvt. Randall, a mechanic in the zone's 507th Engineer Deport Maintenance company, arrived overseas last February and formerly served with the Rhine Engineer depot in Germany.  Before entering the army in August, 1953, he was graduated from Okemos high school.

- S. P. 3 Duane Randall, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. Randall of Okemos, and two of his buddies, who are stationed in France, recently spent a two-week furlough in Amsterdam, London, and Paris.  Randall enlisted in the engineering company in August 1953, and was assigned to Germany in February 1954.  He expects to return to the States in July, 1956.

RANDALL - Sp/3C Duane A. Randall, son of Clarence A. Randall, 4393 Dobie rd., Okemos, was a member of the honor guard which participated in Memorial Day services at the Epinal, France, American Military cemetery.

Upon honorable military discharge Duane came home and married Sandra K. "Sandy" Sims, daughter of Chris Noel and Hazel Mary (Hart) Sims.   Duane and Sandra celebrated many years of marriage together before Duane died 9 October 2009, Gwinnett County, Georgia.  He was interred Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, Cherokee County, Georgia.

Duane Arnold Randall Lawrenceville, GA Age 74, formerly of Okemos, passed away on Friday, October 9, 2009. He is survived by his wife, Sandy Randall; daughter, Julie Randall; son, Gary Randall; and brother, Buck Buchanan. A private service will be held on Tuesday, October 13, 2009, at GA National Cemetery in Canton, GA. Wages and Sons Gwinnett Chapel, 1031 Lawrenceville Hwy, Lawrenceville, GA, is in charge of the arrangements.
