Patsy Joan Hilley (Schleicher) - Class Of 1959

Patsy Joan Hilley (Schleicher)

Patsy Joan Hilley, daughter of Glenn H. (1915-1987) and Duka (Boersma) (1919-2006) Hilley, was born 5 December 1940, Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan.  She graduated in 1959 from Okemos High School and went on to attend Michigan State University.  In May 1961, Okemos Community Church, Okemos, Ingham County, Michigan Patsy wed Harold H. Haeger Jr.

PATSY HILLEY, HAROLD HAEGER ARE WED RECENTLY IN OKEMOS

Newlywed Mr. and Mrs. Harold H. Haeger, Jr., are now making their home at 1460 Oscoda rd., Okemos.

They spoke their wedding vows recently in the Okemos Community church chapel.

The bride, formerly Miss Patsy Joan Hilley, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Glenn H. Hilley of 1460 Oscoda rd., Okemos.  the bridegroom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Harold H. Haeger, Sr. of Southfield.

Patsy donned a ballerina gown of lace over slipper satin and carried yellow roses and white shattered carnations.

Miss Kathleen Ann Hilley was her sister's maid of honor.  She wore a gown of yellow embroidered taffeta.  Her flowers were yellow daisies and shattered carnations.

Roy Haeger of Southfield was his brother's best man and ushering was Peter J. Cummins of Okemos.

Following the rites a reception was held in the bride's parent' home, and later, the newlyweds went on a northern trip.

Both the bride and bridegroom are students at Michigan State university.

Special guests at the wedding were Mrs. Emilie Haeger of Detroit, grandmother of the bridegroom, Mr. and Mrs. William E. Hilley of Copemish, grandparents of the bride, and Mrs. Maude King of Benzonia, great-grandmother of the bride.

Harold, born 1940, and Patsy had two children. Harold worked for the American Bank and Trust Company.  The children were, Deborah Kathleen, 21 months and Donald Michael, 2 months of age, when their father, age 24, died 11 May 1964, Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan. Harold was interred Evergreen Cemetery, Lansing, Ingham County.

H.H. Haeger Jr. Succumbs at 24

Harold H. Haeger Jr., 24, of 3817 Palmer St., a loan supervisor in the installment loan department at American Bank and Trust Co., died Monday at a Detroit hospital.

Mr. Haeger, who had worked at the bank since 1961, had been ill nearly a year.  He entered the hospital in mid-April.

Survivors include his widow, Patsy; two children, Donald and Debra, and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold H. Haeger Sr. of Southfield.

The body is at the Gorsline-Runciman East Chapel

Patsy married, 20 November 1964, Billy Paul Schleicher.  Billy, born 12 November 1935, was in the Naval Reserve.  He was employed at Fisher Body in Lansing for many years.

SCHLEICHER - Gunners Mate 2.C Billy P. Schleicher, 2119 Westbury, is spending two weeks of active duty training aboard the USS Havre at the Great Lakes, Ill., Training Station.  Schleicher is a member of the Naval Reserve Surface Division 9-102 (L).

Billy and Patsy had a son, Patrick Brian, born 14 January 1966.  Patrick died, at home, 5 May 1966.  He was interred Evergreen Cemetery, Lansing.

Billy and Patsy had 39 years together.  Billy died 18 June 2004.  He was interred with a military service at Evergreen Cemetery, Lansing.  Patsy died 14 July 2014 and was interred Evergreen Cemetery.

Patsy was born December 5, 1940 in Detroit, Michigan to Glenn and Duka (Boersma) Hilley, passed away July 14, 2014 at the age of 73. Patsy was a loving mother and devoted Christian. She was a member of the Mount Hope Church of Lansing. Patsy was preceded in death by her husband, Billy; son, Patrick and brother, Michael. She is survived by her daughters, Debbi (Jeff) Colley and Teri (Bill) Kobiska; son, Don M. Schleicher; eight grandchildren, Cody (Missy) Schleicher, Makalia Kobiska, Chip Woodbury, Jonathan (Caroline) Woodbury, Lesley (Jeff) Mayer,Valarie Marsden, Phillip Colley, Jake Colley; six great grandchildren; sister, Kathleen (John) Raut and extended family. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 18, Noon at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 1730 E. Grand River Ave, East Lansing, MI. Interment will take place following the service at Evergreen Cemetery, Lansing, MI. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6-8 pm and one hour prior to the service at the chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Capital Area Humane Society, 7095 W.
