Cornelius "Casey" Wagenvoord - Class Of 1959

Cornelius Casey Wagenvoord

Cornelius "Casey" Wagenvoord, son of Cornelius (1911-1984) and Alberta (Higley) (1907-1953) Wagenvoord, was born 16 November 1940 Lansing, Ingham County, Michigan.  He graduated in 1959 from Okemos High School.  During the 1960's numerous articles written by Casey appeared in the Palladium-Item newspaper (Richmond, Indiana).  Casey died 5 January 2011 Monmouth County, New Jersey and was interred Lewisburg Cemetery, Lewisburg, Union County, Pennsylvania.

CORNELIUS (CASE) WAGENVOORD JR.
AGE: 70 

            Cornelius (Case) Wagenvoord Jr., 70, of Leonardo, died Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2011, at his home. He was born in Lansing, MI and lived in Michigan for the first 18 years of his life. He moved to New York and lived in Brooklyn for many years, but has resided in Middletown for the past 20 years. Case retired as a Special Education Teacher for the New York City Public School System. He was a member of the Arcadian Chorale and an active volunteer at the Two River Theater in Red Bank. Case was an avid writer and blogger. He also enjoyed wood carving.

            Surviving are his wife, Marjorie Wagenvoord; daughter, Christina Ackerman; sister, Mary Solterman; sister, Carol Reynolds; brother, Richard Wagenvoord; and three grandchildren.  Arrangements are under the direction of John F. Pfleger Funeral Home. A private interment will be held at Lewisburg Cemetery, Lewisburg, Pa.
