Richard James Largent
March 23, 1943 ~ December 7, 2017 (age 74)
Richard J. Largent, born March 23, 1943 in Lansing, MI passed peacefully at home surrounded by family. He received the Meritorious Service Award and three Michigan Law Enforcement Blockade Awards during his service of over twenty-five years with the Michigan State Police. After serving, he opened Target Investigations and eventually retired in 2014. He is preceded in death by his father, Wallace Alvin Largent; mother, Bernadine Edith Deyarmond, and brother, Michael Largent. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn of 45 years; children, Robert Barker (Kanoe), Angela Largent Keen, Tim Largent (Bobbi), Nathan Largent (Mari), Tamara Pitts (Logan), Dawn Schultz (Jeff); 16 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; brother and sisters, Jerry Largent (Dolly), Darlene Komm (Gerhard), Charlene Bailey (Bill), and his beloved dog, Mika.
He lived life to the fullest, fiercely loved and cherished his time with family and friends. His wonderful sense of humor, charm, and infectious laugh will forever be remembered and greatly missed. He loved good wine, great food, and a great dirty joke! He has asked that his body be donated to Michigan State University, where his final “Go Blue!” will be found on a location where he would like all of their fans to kiss him. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 12th, at 11:00am at Kentwood Community Church, 1200 60th Street Kentwood, MI 49508. Guests may arrive to pay respects to the family 1 hour prior.
