
Peter “Pete” Zecevic, born 11 February 1947, Federal Republic of Germany, was the oldest of three children born to Milentije (or Milan) (about 1917 Yugoslavia - 1974 Yugoslavia) and Katharina (Mueller) Zecevic (1922 Germany-2001). The Zecevic family of 5 arrived from Germany into the New York harbor on 20 November 1951, aboard the non-commissioned civilian-crewed ship, USNS General LeRoy Eltinge. The family was designated as “displaced persons” and were sponsored by the First Presbyterian Church of Mason, Michigan.
Milan would find employment as a janitor with Consumers Power of Michigan while Katharina was a homemaker. All three children, Peter, Barbara and Yanko, attended Okemos Public Schools. Peter would graduate with the class of 1966.
During the 1960's Milan and Katharina divorced and Milan remarried a lady named Stefana. Milan succumbed to pneumonia and heart problems in Tutin, Yugoslavia on 5 January 1974 and was interred in a Pope, Yugoslavia cemetery
Pete would marry classmate Patricia Jill “Jill” Rodhe, daughter of Jackie and Catherine (Naftzger) Rodhe, in Ingham County, Michigan during the fall of 1971. The couple moved to Alaska in the 1970's. Their son Michael would graduated from Juneau-Douglas High School, Juneau, Alaska in 1996. Pete was employed in various capacities over the years including bar tending.
Pete's mother remarried. She and husband also moved to Alaska as did Pete's brother Yanko. Yanko was named as a contact on his father's 1974 death certificate.
Pete and Jill divorced and he married Jeanette Eileen (Fleming) Stockton. Jeanette was a certified nursing assistant. Pete passed away 17 August 2007 in King County, Washington. Jeanette, born 17 April 1961, Eugene, Oregon, died of surgical complications 23 May 2010, Springfield, Oregon.
