Jerry Alan McMillan, son of Archie Edwin (1918-1994) and Esther Agnes (Evans) (1921-2001) McMillan, was born 3 November 1950 in Lansing, Ingham County, Michigan. Jerry and his parents were Native American Indians. The federal government recognizes 12 native American Tribes within the state of Michigan. Archie and Esther were born in Emmet County, Michigan and were identified in the 1930 Emmet County, Michigan US Federal Census as Native American Indians. Jerry, one of twelve children born to Archie and Esther, died 8 May 1994 in Michigan. He was in the Class of 1969 at Okemos High School.

Age 43, died May 8, 1994. Born November 3, 1950 in Lansing, MI. Formerly of Okemos, MI. Preceded in death by his father, Archie E. McMillan. He is survived by his mother, Esther McMillan; 3 brothers, Archie V. (Marie), Bruce and Donald; 8 sisters, Arvilla (Mike) Bateman, Joan (Brent) Brown, Janice (Richard) Beckhorn, Marie (Richard) Simmons, Joyce (Rory) Young, Judith Tackett, Carol Kratz, Sue (Gary)Vertz and many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, May 20, 19944, at 11 a.m., at the Lansing Indian Center at 1235 Center St., Lansing, MI.

Jerry and I spent many fall days hunting together. He was always willing to hit the woods and fields on short notice. He had a great sense of humor and always had a smile on his face.
