Peter Donald "Pete" Calcatera, son of Donald Louis (1928-1999) and Dolores M. (Alexander) (1930-2002) Calcatera, was born 7 May 1955 in Michigan.  He graduated in 1963 from Okemos High School. Pete married three times; Traci Lin Waggner (1978 divorced 1983), Mary Gale David (1985 divorced 1997) and Shelly Marie Killoran (2001).  He died in Sarasota County, Florida 9 February 2008.

Survivors include his life partner, Linda Demasis of Sarasota; daughters Shanna Silipo and Niki Perry, both of Bradenton; stepdaughters Amanda Davis of Bradenton and Ashley Skaggs of Venice; stepsons Brad Waggoner, Josh Davis and James, Ryan and Kevan Killoran, all of Bradenton, and Jeffrey Kisgen of Cape Coral; brothers Anthony of South Lyon, Mich., and Robert of Holt, Mich.; and five grandchildren.

Pete D. Calcatera, 52, Sarasota, formerly of Bradenton, died Feb. 9, 2008.

Mr. Calcatera was a dedicated member of  the Anna Maria Island Privateers since the mid-1980s.

A memorial service was held Feb. 14 at Hawkins Funeral Home in Sarasota.
