AREA EX-RESIDENT DIES IN CAR CRASH

Charles A. Snyder, 25, of 400 E. Main, Endicott, N.Y., and former Lansing area resident, was killed early today when his car went out of control near the town of Tioga, New York.

Snyder, an IBM employee, was alone when the accident occurred about 1:30 a.m.  Tioga County sheriff's deputies said his car failed to complete a curve, crossed into the opposite lane, struck a utility pole on the driver side and sheared off a sign post.  Snyder was partly ejected from the auto which was nearly torn in two from the impact, sheriff's deputies said.

Snyder was a Michigan State University graduate and held a master's degree in business administration.  He was the son of Clinton A. Snyder of Okemos, MSU professor of social sciences.
