Kurt Wayne Rieske, son of William Charles, Jr. (1925-2015) and Gladys May (Burns) (1923-2007), was born 3 October 1957, Michigan.  Kurt was a 1985 graduate of Okemos High School.  He died February 2013, Port Arthur, Jefferson County, Texas.

KURT WAYNE RIESKE

55, Father, son, brother, uncle, friend, passed away in Port Arthur, Texas, in February 2013.  Son of William C. Rieske, Jr., and the late Gladys M. Rieske, Kurt grew up in Okemos and was a 1975 graduate of Okemos High School.  Trained as a welder and pipefitter, Kurt followed his work to Texas, where he spent much of his adult life as a journeyman welder.  He traveled extensively, both professionally and for pleasure.  Kurt was a kind and gentle man with a wonderful sense of humor and a fierce loyalty to family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his cherished mother Gladys.  Along with hs father, William, and daughter, Laura Jo, Kurt is survived by is siblings, Claire (Paul), William (Susan), Mark (Helen) and Lynne (Lee), and his nieces and nephews.

There will be a memorial service to honor Kurt at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 22, at Okemos Presbyterian Church.
