Tod Anthony Klimaszewski, son of Theodore Steven "Ted" (1927-1994) Dorothy Eileen "Dotty"  (1941-2013) Klimaszewski, was born 9 January 1961 in Dearborn , Wayne County, Michigan.  He was a member of the Class of 1979 at Okemos High School.  Tod died 12 November 1979 as the result of injuries received after being struck by a car. 

Tod's father, Ted, was a World War II Army veteran, an FBI agent from 1951-1980 and Michigan Assistant Attorney General, Department of Attorney General, from 1980-1994.  Tod and his father were interred East Lawn Memory Garden, Okemos, Ingham County, Michigan.

MASON - An Okemos youth was critically injured early Sunday when he was struck by a car while hitchhiking on M-43 east f Burkley Road.

Tod Anthony Klimaszewski, 18, of 1975 Tomahawk, was walking along the road and apparently wandered into the roadway, Ingham County deputies said.

He was struck by a car driven by Robin Irene Dunn, 19, of 5735 Ridgeway Drive, Haslett.

The accident occurred at 2:40 a.m.  Kilmaszewski was wearing dark clothing and Miss Dunn said she was unable to see him in time to avoid hitting him.

The victim is in critical condition in the intensive care unit at Sparrow Hospital.

INJURIES FATAL TO 18-YEAR-OLD

Tod A. Klimaszewski, 18, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ted. S. Klimaszewski, of Okemos, died at Sparrow Hospital Monday after being struck by a car eight days ago.

Ingham County Sheriff's deputies said the youth was struck by a car driven by Robin Dunn, 19, of 5735 Ridgeway Drive, Haslett, about 2:40 a.m. that Sunday morning as the youth apparently was hitchhiking on M-43 east of Burkley Road.  A sheriff's spokesman said the driver was not charged.

Ted Kilmaszewski is the special agent in charge of the FBI's Lansing office.

A mass of the Christian burial will be held at noon Thursday at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, East Lansing.

Age 18, died Mon., Nov. 12, 1979, born Jan. 9, 1961 in Dearborn. Tod had been a resident of Okemos since 1967.  He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church and was a student at Lansing Community College.  Surviving are his parents Mr. & Mrs. Ted S. Klimaszewski, 2 sisters Shelly and Lisa, 1 brother Steven all at home, several aunts, uncles and cousins.  Mass of the Christian Burial will be held Thurs. noon at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church East Lansing.  Rosary will be prayed Wed. at 7:30 p.m. at the Gorsline-Runciman East Chapel, East Lansing.
