Kimberly Jean "Kim" Pollard class of 1979, daughter of Jack K. and Rose Pollard, was born 1 February 1961, Trenton, Wayne County, Michigan. Kim's parents were later divorced. Kim graduated in 1979 from Okemos High School and Michigan State University in 1985. Kim married, about 1990, Mathew J. Stoll. She died of a brain hemorrhage 25 August 1995, Royal Oak, Oakland County, Michigan.

Age 43, died unexpectedly Friday evening, August 25, 195 at the Royal Oak home that she shared with her husband, Matthew Stoll. Kim, who grew up in Williamston, attended high school in East Lansing, and graduated from Okemos High School in 1979, graduated from the School of Journalism at Michigan State University in 1985. She worked briefly as a Reporter at the Midland Daily News prior to her marriage, and then accompanied her husband Matt (East Lansing Class of 1979) to assignments in Omaha and Denver, and, in February 1994, to the Detroit area. A talented writer, Kim was also known and loved for her enduring passion for gourmet cooking, her sincere concern for animals, her eclectic sense of personal style, and her abiding commitment to issues of justice and equality. She is survived her husband and his family, her mother, Rose Carson of Colorado brother, Steven Pollard of Okemos, grandmother, Frances Johnson of Jackson, step-mothers, Bonnie Bucqueroux of Mason and Judy Clark of Lansing; aunt, Constance (Tina McLanus) Sarkey of Bath; great-uncle, Donald Beitler of Jackson; niece, Raychelle Pollard of Okemos; and dog, Juneau and cats, Lucy and Maui. A memorial is planned for Friday, September 1, Noon, Otherwise Gallery, 1207 Turner Street, Lansing.
