Heike Sylvia Moisenko - Class Of 1982

Heike Sylvia Moisenko

Heike Sylvia Moisenko, daughter of George (1936-2011) and Jutta (Obermueller) (1939-1995) Moisenko, was born 31 December 1963, Lansing, Ingham County, Michigan. 

Mr. Moisenko, a native of Lithuania, came to the United States in 1956 with $100 in his pocket.  He served in the US Army from 1960-1964.  He married Jutta Obermueller, a native of Germany, in 1960. George was a Porsche mechanic until 1970 when he and a partner began German Automotive Inc., which they ran for 35 years.

Heike was a 1982 of Okemos High School.  Her sister Angela graduated in  1980.  After furthering her education with a degree in International Studies at Michigan State University, Heike went to work in Grand Rapids, Kent County, Michigan.  Sadly, her mother, Jutta, was killed in an auto accident in 1995. 

Heike succumbed to cancer 30 December 2000, Ingham County.  George Moisenko died, also from cancer, in 2011.  The Moisenko's were all interred Glendale Cemetery, Okemos.

OKEMOS

Born December 31, 1963 in Lansing, MI.  After a long and courageous battle against cancer, Heike went home on December 30, 2000 to be with the Lard and her mother, Jutta, who preceded her in death in December 1995.  Heike earned her Bachelor's degree in International Studies from Michigan State University in 1987, and lived and worked in Grand Rapids, MI before her illness.  She will be remembered as a loving daughter, sister and friend who loved life, adventure, had a great sense of humor and had a kind and loving heart.  Surviving are her father, George Moisenko of Okemos, MI; sister, Angela Moisenko of Mishawaka, IN and many friends.  Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 4, 11 a.m. at Emanuel First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1001 N. Capitol Avenue, Lansing with the Rev. Daniel Buske, Co-Pastor, officiating.  Interment will follow in Glendale Cemetery, Okemos.
