Catherine Smith, 40, joined her Lord and the company of angels on March 2, 2015.  She was born in Lansing, MI on August 12, 1974.  She was a graduate of Okemos High School and Lansing Community College.

Catherine had many and varied interests.  She was an active member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood, Trinity Episcopal Church and the Grand Ledge Victorian Days Committee.  She was an advocate for persons with disabilities and served on the Michigan Commission on Disabilities Concerns for three governors.  She was a Gilbert and Sullivan aficionado and loved participating in musicals and operettas.  She had enjoyed working for the National Passport Information Service while she was able.

Catherine fought hard to make her life active and meaningful despite her struggles with Congenital Heart Disease.  Her strong spirit and active mind will be missed.

She is survived by her loving family: parents: Kalmin and Marsha (Cobb) Smith; sister: Sarah Bunker (Daryl) and her nieces: Allison, Emily and Brianna; grandmother, Jane Hall Cobb Fehr, Uncle: James Dexter Cobb (Dorothy), and several cousins.  Waiting for her in Heaven are her paternal grandparents, maternal grandfather, aunts and an uncle.
