Richard Scott Smith class of 1991, of Laingsburg, MI and formerly of Williamston, MI passed away on Friday, September 24, 2021 at the age of 56. Scott was born on December 9, 1964 in Lansing, MI the son of Richard B. Smith and Janet (Twichell) Smith. He was raised in Williamston and attended Okemos High School graduating class of 1991. Scott worked for Peckham and at Transitions North Community Mental Health. He was the founding member of KCS Angels, a social group for individuals with special needs that hosted programs and events. Scott was also a campaign manager for Randy Schaffer, Ingham County Board of Commissioner for 15 years. He loved to sing and dance, he had a joyous personality and loved to tell jokes and make others laugh.
Scott is preceded in death by his parents, Richard B. Smith and Janet (Smith) Allmond; brother, Chris Smith and niece, Taylor Smith.
He is survived by his brother, Kirt (Tracy) Smith; sisters, Cindie Owen, Connie (Steve) Carrasco; aunts, Shirley (Stan) Bryson, Phyllis Whidden; nieces and nephews, Jimmy (Carrie) Bird, Christopher Smith, Amanda (Lewis) Smith, Michelle Smith, Rachael (Nekoda) Self, Kasey Clymo, Jarid Smith, Andy (Natalee) Barnard, special friends, Tiffany Travis, David Gagneir and numerous cousins, and great nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at Skinner Funeral Home in Eaton Rapids. The family will receive friends starting at 12:00 P.M.
