September 22, 1979 – October 23, 2025

Brian Douglas Ottinger was born on September 22, 1979, in Lansing, Michigan, to Cindy and Doug Ottinger. From a young age, Brian was easygoing, kind, and a devoted Michigan State Spartans fan—a passion that remained with him throughout his life. He graduated from Okemos High School and went on to fulfill his dream of attending Michigan State University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management.

Brian later found a career he truly loved as a scheduler with General Motors. Brian enjoyed all things MSU, spending time on the golf course, and making memories with his beloved niece and nephew. He was intelligent, dependable, and always ready to lend a hand—especially when it came to helping his parents with anything technology-related.

Brian will be deeply missed by his parents, Cindy and Doug Ottinger; his sister, Kristen Barry; his niece and nephew, Samantha and Charlie Barry; his aunts and uncle, Judy and Emery Hirschler, June Hess, and Denise Ottinger; and many cousins. A memorial visitation to celebrate Brian’s life will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2025, from 1:00–3:00 PM and 5:00–7:00 PM at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home in East Lansing.
