Larry Voss - Class Of 1957 VIEW PROFILE

Larry Voss

Lawrence “Larry” Voss class of 1957, 80, of Traverse City, and the open road for 15 years, has departed to be the captain of his eternal boating trip.
Larry was born August 27, 1939 to the late Donald and Eva (Pearl) Voss. He was one of three children who all preceded him in death; brothers George and William and sister Nancy Foote.
Larry, the man that never met a stranger, truly was larger than life. He enjoyed many things in life, but the biggest passion for him was being on the water.
For 15 years Larry and Ara lived in their motorhome in all different locations. They sold the house, downsized their lives and upsized their adventures. Traveling from coast to coast.
Prior to Larry taking on the thrills of living, he was a heavy equipment operator for various construction firms for over 40 years. He spent many years as the President of the Kingsley Band Boosters and working on his own small engines.
Larry is survived by his partner in life Ara Voss, his daughter Tamara (Rick) Oaks, son Steven (Rebecca) Voss, grandchildren; Cassy, Amy, Kelli, Allie and Craig, great grandchildren; Kaleigh, Cameron, Kendra, Paige, Lilyana, Evalyn and Ember. As well as extended family members and many close friends both in Michigan and Texas.
He joins his parents, his siblings and his son Craig Wightman.
Please join the family from 2-4pm on Sunday August 30, 2020 at the Reynolds Jonkhoff Funeral Home in the Gardens to share memories.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing an expression of sympathy may choose to donate to their charity of choice in Larry's honor.
Larry and his family are being cared for by the Reynolds Jonkhoff Funeral Home. (Please note: using the obituary link below provides access to a video of his familiy's memories.)
