Karl Eric "Eric"  Ekstrom, son of Phillip (1895-1969) and Pauline (Seaberg) (1894-1979) Ekstrom, was born 24 April 1928 Illinois.  He graduated from high school in Illinois, attended Lake Forest College, Illinois and graduated from Michigan State College, 1953, with a teaching degree.  Eric married Miss Mary Elizabeth "Lynn" Streeper 27 December 1953 in her parent's home, Conneaut, Ashtabula County, Ohio.

Mr. and Mrs. Austin T. Streeper, Conneaut, O., announce the engagement of their daughter, Mary Elizabeth, to Erik Ekstrom, son of Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Ekstrom of Lake Forest, Ill.

Miss Streeper is a graduate of the University of Michigan where she was affiliated with Zeta Tau Alpha.  At present she resides at 115 Hillsdale st.

Mr. Ekstrom attended lake Forest College, Lake Forest, Ill., and is completing his studies at Michigan State college.

Eric and Lynn lost an infant daughter, Susan Elizabeth, 24 July 1955 Ingham County, Michigan.  The baby was interred Conneaut, Ohio.

Eric began his teaching career at Okemos in 1957 and continued through the 1960-1961 school year.  In 1957 his classes included 8th graders.  From 1958-1961 he taught High School English, Civics and Speech I and II.  He also sponsored Forensics, Debate and Student Parliament.

HOLT RESIDENT WINS NEW POST

K. Eric Ekstrom, 4305 Bond ave., Holt, has been named administrative assistant for the Society of Residential Appraisers, with international headquarters in Chicago.

Ekstrom, who was formerly an instructor in written and oral communications with Okemos high school, will locate with his family in Chicago.

By the late 1980's Eric was employed by the National Window and Door Association.  He and Lynn (1929-2014) divorced.  Eric died 17 May 2013 Illinois.

K. Eric Ekstrom ("Eric"), of Naperville, Illinois, passed away on May 17, 2013.  Beloved former husband of Lynn Ekstrom.  Loving Father of Mary Martindale.  Loved Son of the late Phillip and late Pauline Ekstrom.  Fond grandfather of Laura and Karen Martindale.  Dear brother of the late Olie and late Roy Ekstrom.  Fond uncle of the late Scott Ekstrom,  He was a member of HOPE United Church of Christ.  Eric was survived by many friends and family who were blessed enough to know and love him.  Services are private.
