Maria Alicia (Mary Alice) Almazan, daughter of Pilar (1923-1965) and Estella (Vasquez) (1925-1998), was born 19 May  1944, Brownsville, Cameron County, Texas.  She graduated in 1962 from Okemos High School.  Mary married a Mr. Alviar and they had 2 daughters.  Mary died 2 December 2000 and was interred Maple Grove Cemetery, Mason, Ingham County, Michigan.  Her brother Bob, a 1964 OHS graduate, and her parents are also interred in Maple Grove.

Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister and aunt left this world for eternal peace on Saturday, December 2, 2000.  Maria was  born May 19, 1944 in Brownsville, TX the daughter of Pilar and Estella  Almazan.  She was preceded in death by her father in 1965 and her mother in 1998.  She leaves behind 2 daughters, Rachelle and Michelle; grandson, Nico; 1 sister, Kathy (Pedro) Gonzalez; 2 brothers, Robert (Molly) Almazan, Tom (Chris) Almazan; and several nieces and nephews.  The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, December 5, 11 a.m. at Cristo Rey Catholic Church with the Rite of Committal following in Maple Grover Cemetery, Mason.
