Russell David "David" Kleis, son of Russell J. (1913-1979) and Agnes (Raab) (1913-2006) Kleis, was born 8 August 1943 in Lansing, Ingham County, Michigan.  He graduated from Okemos High School in 1962.  David died 7 August 2005 in Ingham County.  He was interred South Martin Cemetery, Martin, Allegan County, Michigan.

Born August 8, 1943, Lansing, MI; died August 7, 2005 at the age of 61.  David had a dual Master's Degree from Michigan State University in Art History and teaching and was a well respected instructor at LCC.  He was an active participant in the Lansing area art community.  David was preceded in death by his father, Russell J. Kleis.  He is survived by his partner, Randy Gray; mother, Agnes; three brothers, Warren (Sharon) Kleis, Donald (Carole) Kleis, Stanley (Beth) Kleis; two sisters, Myrna (James) Miller and Janice Ghaderi; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.  Funeral services will be held Friday, August 12, 10:00 a.m. at the Gorsline-Runciman East Chapel, 1730 E. Grand River Ave., East Lansing.
