Elaine Ruth Sessions (Handy) - Class Of 1942

Elaine Ruth Sessions, daughter of Stanley M. and Marie E. (McKenzie) Sessions, was born 11 October 1924 in Lansing, Ingham County, Michigan.  She graduated from Okemos High School in 1942.  Elaine married William A. Handy 13 March 1943 at Camp Crowder, Missouri.  She died 25 December 1979 in Lansing and was interred Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, DeWitt, Clinton County, Michigan.

Mrs. Handy, age 55, died Dec. 25, 1979.  She had been a lifelong resident of Lansing before moving to Portland, Mich.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church; graduated from Okemos High School, and attended Ferris State College.  She was Vice President of the W. A. Handy Co., and had been employed with the United Way.  Surviving are: Husband, William A. Handy of Portland; Daughter, Jane A. Handy of Lansing; Mother, Mrs. Marie Sessions of Lansing; Brother, Thomas Sessions of Lake City.  Religious services will be conducted by Rev. Dr. Julius Fischbach, Paster Emeritus of the First Baptist Church at 10:00 a.m. Friday in the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel, with interment in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
