Orville J. Counterman, son of Charles H. (1893-1943) and Minnie M. (Horton) (1896-1994) Counterman, was born 19 November 1923 Lansing, Ingham County, Michigan. He graduated from Okemos High School in 1942. Orville enlisted as a private in the US Army 29 January 1943 at Kalamazoo, Michigan.

Orville J. Counterman, son of Mrs. Earl Long of Albion (this is a mistake!), was recently promoted to the rank of sergeant in Okinawa, where he has been stationed since January, 1949. Sgt. Counterman is in charge of a tank farm where bulk petroleum products are stored. Before re-enlisting in November 1948, he lived in Lansing with his sister, Mrs. Water Linsea, 4520 Donald st. He was formerly employed by the Standard Oil company in Lansing, and is a graduate of Okemos high school.
Orville died 26 October 1985 Los Angeles County, California.
