James Rubbin Hause, son of Clifford E. (1898-1964) and Nellie G. (Paddock) (1899-1970) Hause, was born 31 October 1924 Lansing, Ingham County, Michigan. He graduated from Okemos High School in 1942. James was drafted into the US Army in 1943 and honorably discharged from service January 1946. On 22 February 1947 he married Beverly A. Comer in Indiana.
James died 4 March 1998 Pensacola, Escambia County, Florida and was interred, as were his parents, Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Dewitt, Clinton County, Michigan.

Age 73, my mentor, teacher, and unmoving pillar of integrity passes away on Wednesday, March 4, 1998 in Pensacola, FL. He was born on October 31, 1924 in Lansing, and was a resident of the Holt area for most of his life. He was a Veteran of World War II, serving in the United States Army as a surgical technician. He was active as a volunteer for St. Jude Hospital in Memphis, TN, and was a current member of the American Legion. He was an avid golfer and handyman; and was a former member of the Holt Kiwanis Club, Lansing Lodge #388, L.O.O. Moose, and of Old Higgins Post #3727, V.F.W. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Carroll. Surviving are: his wife of 51 years, Beverly; son, Christopher (Tina) Hause of Holt; sisters, Betty (Bill) Potter of Laingsburg, Colleen (Cliff) Page of Morrice; brothers, Jack (Donna) of Kalkaska, Bill (Jan) Hause of Holt, Tom Hause of Lansing, Jerry Hause of Eaton Rapids; sister-in-law, Viola Hause of Kalkaska; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. Dr. Jeffrey D. Weenick of First Presbyterian Church of Holt at 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 10, 1998 at the Estes-Leadley Holt-Delhi Chapel, with interment in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
