Laura Belle Hitchcock, daughter of Howard (1887-1960) and Lizzie (Burt) (1894-1945) Hitchcock, was born 24 June 1923 Lansing, Ingham County, Michigan. She graduated in 1941 from Okemos High School. Her brother, Bob, graduated from Okemos in 1940.
Laura married Leonard Monroe Ewers 22 December 1947 Lansing. Leonard was a World War II Army veteran who served from 1941-1945. Leonard enlisted in Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan 11 June 1941. He was described as 66" tall and weighing 133 pounds. Leonard was born 26 August 1917 in Detroit.

WED AT JOLLY CORNERS
A quiet wedding took place at the Community tabernacle Monday, December 2, when Miss Laura b. Hitchcock, 512 Hylewood street, Lansing and Leonard M. Ewers of Stockbridge were united in marriage by the pastor, Rev. Samuel J. Beverly. They were attended by Arlen Nellie Hitchcock and Elmer Clayton Hitchcock of Lansing.
Leonard died 29 February 1996 Unadilla, Livingston County, Michigan. Laura died 7 October 2002 Ingham County, Michigan.
