Doris Lucille Waters (Russell) - Class Of 1941

Doris Lucille Waters, daughter of Wing Orin (1877-1945) and Maude (Barrett) (1877-1956) Waters, was born 1 July 1920 Williamston, Ingham County, Michigan.  She graduated in 1941 from Okemos High School.  Doris married Burton Henry "Burt" Stover 31 December 1943 Williamston.  Burt was a World War II Army veteran, serving from 1941 until honorable discharge in 1945.

EX-LANSING PITCHER WINS SEVENTH VICTORY

Chanute Field, Ill., Sept. 7 - Corp. Burton Stover, former Lansing, Mich., State league twirler, who is pitching now for the Chanute field Planesmen, stopped the Champaign Plumbers with four hits and one unearned run here Saturday as the Soldiers won their seventh straight, 8-1.

Burt died 19 June 1988 Northville, Wayne County, Michigan.

BURTON STOVER, 69, a construction company vice-president and avid sportsman, died Sunday at his home in Northville after a long illness.  Mr. Stover was part owner and vice-president of the Walter Toebe Construction Co.  He retired in 1986 after 25 years with that firm.  He was a member of Meadowbrook Country Club and the Club Limited, an international hunting and fishing club.  Mr. Stover is survived by his wife, Doris; two daughters Carole Green and Nancy Malloure; two sons, Thomas and Daniel, four  brothers, and eight grandchildren.  Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. today at the Ross B. Northrup & Son Funeral Home, 19091 Northville Road, Northville.

Doris married Robert W. Russell (1920-2011).  She died 1 May 2009 Wayne County.  Doris and Burt were interred Rural Hill Cemetery, Northville, Wayne County.

Doris Waters Stover Russell, age 88, died May 1, 2009.

Beloved wife of Robert W. Russell and the late Burton Stover.  Dear mother of Carole Green, Thomas (Sally) Stover, Nancy (Joe) Malloure and Daniel Stover. Loving grandmother of Amanda and Brady Green, Jeffrey, Bradley, Andrew and Carolyn Stover, Michael (Julie), James (Sara) and Clay Malloure, and great-grandmother of Katherine and Anna Malloure.

Visitation is Monday from 4-8 p.m. at the Northrop-Sassaman Funeral Home, 19091 Northville Raod, Northville, Michigan.  Services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the First Presbyterian Church, 200 East Main Street, Northville.
