Frederick Oscar "Fred" Cook, son of Oscar Frederick (1894-1985) and Mary Esther (Hoxie) (1896-1987) Cook, was born 7 May 1921 Bay City, Bay County, Michigan.  He graduated in 1939 from Okemos High School.  On 12 October 1940 in Lansing, Ingham County, Michigan, Fred married Betty Nadine Drow.  Betty born 2 December 1921 Ohio died 15 November 2008 Southfield, Oakland County, Michigan.  Fred died 3 June 2012 Wayne County, Michigan.  He was interred Grand Lawn Cemetery, Detroit, Wayne County.

Cook Frederick O. Age 91, of Redford formerly of Southfield died June 3, 2012. Loving father of Sharon and Laurel Cook. Dearest grandfather of Alan (Leslie) Waltz, David (Tracey) Waltz, and Dale (Amy) Waltz. Cherished great-grandfather of Evan, Trenton, Avery, and Jason. Frederick spent 60 years of his life as an active carpenter. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 68 years, Betty, who worked for many years for the Southfield Public Schools prior to her death in 2008. Both are survived by numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside committal service will take place at Grand Lawn Cemetery, 23501 Grand River Avenue, Detroit, Thursday 11 a.m.
