Alberta Mildred Reeves (Emery) - Class Of 1939

Alberta Mildred Reeves (Emery)

Alberta Mildred Reeves, daughter of Albert Lindsay (1894-1952) and Myrtle Brumm (Johnson) (1894-1982) Reeves, was born 13 February 1919 Lansing, Ingham County, Michigan.  She graduated in 1939 from Okemos High School.  Alberta married Lowell Merlin Gottschalk 16 October 1931 Alaiedon Township, Ingham County.  Lowell, born 11 June 1921, was a World War II US Army veteran serving from 1943-1945.  Albert and Lowell had one daughter, Elaine Louise, but were divorced 18 May 1951 Ingham County.

LESLIE RESIDENTS BUY LANSING BUSINESS PLACE

Leslie, Oct. 2 - Mrs. Myrtle Reeves with her associates, Mrs. Alberta Gottschalk and William Demaske are moving to Lansing where they will operate a gift shop at 4400 S. Logan.

Alberta's marriage license to Gerald Donald Emery was printed in the 12 August 1953 issue of the Lansing State Journal.  Gerald, born 4 June 1912 Pellston, Emmet County, Michigan.  He served in the US Army during World War II from 1942 to 1944. 

Gerald helped raise Alberta's only child, Elaine Louise.  Mrs. Elaine Louise Patterson, age 30, was killed in an auto accident 23 October 1973 in Colorado.

Alberta died 13 March 1993.  Gerald died 10 May 1996.  Gerald and Alberta were interred Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver, Colorado.
