Robert Lindsay Reeves - Class Of 1939

Robert Lindsay Reeves, son of Albert Lindsay (1894-1952) and Myrtle Brumm (Johnson) (1894-1982) Reeves, was born 14 March 1921 Meridian Township, Ingham County, Michigan.  Robert graduated in 1939 from Okemos High School along with his sister Alberta.

Robert joined the US Navy 16 October 1942.

Robert Reeves, seaman at Great Lakes naval training school, has been home on a week's furlough and returns Tuesday night to the school.  He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lindsay Reeves, Cavanaugh road.

MARRIAGE REVEALED

Mr. and Mrs. Ray Ellsworth White, 135 Garden street, announce the marriage of their daughter, Margery Azalia, to Robert L. Reeves, machinist's mate first class of the navy, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. L. reeves of Okemos.  The ceremony took place November 3, in the Boston University School of Theology, Boston, Mass.  Dr. Carl Marlatt, dean of the school, performed the ceremony in the presence of a few close friends.  Mrs. Reeves is a graduate of Edward W. Sparrow hospital of nursing with the class of June, 1944.  The couple are at present residing in Boston.

WHITE - Mrs. Ray E. White, 135 Garden street recently was visited by her two daughters, Corp. Gertrude White, WAC, of Asheville, N.C., and Mrs. Margery Reeves, registered nurse of Detroit.  Corporal White is stationed with the weather wing at Ashville; and Mrs. Reeves will leave in the near future for duty with the Red Cross nurses overseas.  A graduate of Edward W. Sparrow School of Nursing with the class of 1944 for the past two months she has been employed as a nurse by the Packard Motor company.

Robert received honorable discharge from the Navy 13 October 1945.  He and Margery lived in Kent County, Michigan for a number of years.  Robert died 31 March 1994 Plainfield, Kent County.  Margery, born 3 April 1923 Lansing, died 19 March 2010 Kent County.
