Peter Jay Shaw, son of Jay C. (1890-1962) and Augusta (Tihart) (1890-1973) Shaw, was born 2 September 1921 Lansing, Ingham County, Michigan. He graduated in 1939 from Okemos High School.
Peter was a US Army veteran of World War II. He married a woman named Betty in 1943, San Antonio, Texas but they were divorced Ingham County 17 January 1947. Peter married Zenah Ruth Chorley 2 April 1949 Lansing.

Making their home at 1012 Woodbine st., are newlyweds Mr. and Mrs. Peter J. Shaw. They exchanged nuptial vows Saturday in an 11 a.m. ceremony in Westminster Presbyterian church with Rev. M. C. Muilenberg officiating. The bride is the former Miss Zenah R. Chorley, 320 S. Pine st., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William J. Chorley of Saranac. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jay C. Shaw of Okemos.
Attending the couple were Mr. and Mrs. Earl Cloar, Jr.
Peter died 5 February 1992 Ingham County. Zenah, born 17 April 1921, died 22 October 2009 Ingham County.

Age 70, died February 5, 1992. Born September 2, 1921 in Lansing, the son of Jay C. and August Shaw. Mr. Shaw retired from Fisher Body in 1976 after 36 years of employment. He was a veteran of World War II as a Second L. and Fight Instructor with the Army Air Corps. He was an avid golfer and gin rummy player. Mr. Shaw was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Okemos and a member of American Legion Post #269, Haslett for 28 years. Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Zenah R.; 2 daughters, Pamela R. Shaw of Haslett and Mrs. Gregory (Tamara Jo) Walker of Williamston; son, Peter Jay (Sue) Shaw, Jr. of Lansing; 7 grandchildren, Heather, Terry J. P., Greg, Jr., Ryan, Allison, Christopher and Jessica; 2 sisters, Avolyn Ramsey of Holland, MI and Mrs. Edon (June) Dudycha of Mattawan, MI. Memorial services will be held Monday, 2:30 p.m. at the Gorsline-Runciman Co., East Chapel, East Lansing with The Rev. Mark B. Ramsey, Pastor Presbyterian Church of Okemos and Elliot Schott, Pastoral Intern, officiating.
