David Gardner Ball, son of Daniel Monroe (1877-1953) and Clara Alta (Wilbur) (1883-1947) Ball, was born 15 February 1921, Michigan. He was one of 11 children in his family. David attended Okemos High School with the class of 1939. His name was not listed as a graduating member but was listed as a committee participant in the 1938 Junior-Senior Banquet.

David served in the US Navy during World War II and was honorably discharged in 1945. For the last 13 years of his life he owned and operated a brake service business in Charlotte, Eaton County, Michigan. David was married with 3 children when he succumbed to a heart attack 7 December 1965, Eaton County. He was interred Rosehill Cemetery, Eaton Rapids, Eaton County.
