Stanley Arthur Rogers (Athletic Award) - Class Of 1938

Stanley Arthur Rogers, son of Harry Glen (1884-1972) and Mattie Elizabeth (Westbrook) (1883-1972) Rogers, was born 11 February 1919 Saskatchewan, Canada.  Stanley was a 1938 graduate of Okemos High School.  He married, 29 December 1938 Steuben County, Indiana, Marion E. Gleason.  Marion, born 23 December 1919 Ingham County, died 7 January 1987 Lansing, Ingham County.  Stanley died 1 May 1989 Lansing.

Stanley and Marion were interred Leek Cemetery, Okemos.

Age 67, died January 7, 1987 in Lansing.  She was born December 23, 1919 in Okemos and was a lifelong resident of the Williamston/Okemos area.  She is survived by her husband, Stanley; a daughter, Mrs. Willis (Karen) Austin of Portland; 3 sons, Gareth and wife, Marjorie of Mason, Brant of Lansing and Steve and wife, Cindy of Williamston; 9 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; a brother, Edwin Gleason of St. Clair Shores.  Memorial services will be held on Saturday at 4:00 p.m. at the Gorsline-Runciman Williamston Chapel with the Rev. Ron Bence officiating.

Age 70, died May 1, 1989 in Lansing.  He was born February 11, 1919 in Loydeminster, Saskatchewan, Canada and was a resident of this area for 65 years.  He worked for 33 years at Plant 2 of Oldsmobile, retiring in 1974.  He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Marion; 2 sisters, Gladys Coulter and Stella Dickert.  Surviving are 3 sons, Gareth and wife Marjorie, Brant, Steven and wife Cindy; 1 daughter, Mrs. Bill (Karen) Austin; 9 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Harry of Big Rapids and Frank of Leslie; 2 sisters, Helen Steinke of California and Hazel Alf of Holt.  Funeral services will be held Friday, May 5, 11 a.m. at Gorsline-Runciman Williamston Chapel with interment at Leek Cemetery, Okemos.
