Robert "Bob" Butcher, born 1 July 1938, was a 1958 graduate of Okemos High School.  During his 4 years of high school attendance he was voted class president for 3 and also participated in football, track, basketball, F.F.A. and Varsity Club.

In 1984 Bob and his wife, Ellen Libby Hills-Butcher, were named Foster Parents of the Year,  After raising 4 daughters they, from 1974-1985, gave love and home to 25 foster daughters.  Ellen, born 1937, died in 1985 of cancer.  Bob married Jeane Arinda Hershberger in 1988. He died 8 February 2014 and was interred with his first wife, Ellen, in Maple Grove Cemetery, Mason, Ingham County.

age 75, died February 8, 2014.  Robert was preceded in death by his first wife, Ellen Hills-Butcher.

He is survived by his wife, Jeane Butcher; 4 daughters; 6 step-children; 7 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.  As per Robert's request, the family will be having two Memorial Services.
