Robert Earl "Earl" Mills - Class Of 1942

Robert Earl "Earl" Mills, son of Robert Glenn (1890-1971) and Gertrude (Laberteaux) (1894-1987) Mills, was born 26 August 1923 Okemos, Ingham County, Michigan.  He graduated from Okemos High School in 1942.  Earl married Beth Marie Brenner 16 July 1945 in Indiana.

Miss Beth Brenner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Brenner, and Earl Mills, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. Mills, both of Every road, were married recently at Angola, Ind.  Both have been students in the Okemos high school, the bridegroom graduating a couple of years ago.  The bride was a junior last year and at present is a nurses' aide in the Sparrow hospital, Lansing.

Beth, born 27 January 1927 in Mason, Ingham County, divorced Earl.  She remarried 9 November 1992 in Charlevoix County, Michigan,  James Wright Patterson.

ROBERT "EARL" MILLS

Robert "Earl" Mills, age 90, formerly of Okemos, passed on Saturday, May 3, 2014, at Tipton Hills Adult Foster Care Home under the tender care of the Tipton Hills staff and Hospice of Lenawee.

Born at home in Ingham County, Michigan, on August 26, 1923, he was the only child of the late Robert and Gertrude (Laberteaux) Mills.

He was a graduate of Okemos High School.  In addition to taking over the family farm, Earl owned and operated his own plumbing business.  He retired from Gladwin County where he was the plumbing inspector.

Earl is survived by his children:  John (Jane) Mills of Fowlerville, MI; Kay Spencer of Addison, MI; Linda (Larry) Ondrias of Laingsburg, MI; and David (Shelly) Mills of Venice, FL; 22 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

Earl chose to donate his body to Michigan state University as a learning tool for may students.  A memorial service is scheduled for a later date.
