Helen Frances Orton, daughter of Fred Elmer (1887-1971) and Bina Leota (Chaffin) (1894-1999) Orton, was born 29 September 1924 Ithaca, Gratiot County, Michigan. She graduated from Okemos High School in 1942 and married Eugene Benjamin Stauffer 8 June 1946 in Okemos, Ingham County.
Eugene, son of Jacob and Bertha (Wenger) Stauffer, was born 5 March 1924 in Henry County, Iowa. Helen and Eugene had 7 children, 3 still living as of 2017.
