Mary Lee Penny Cameron

Mary Lee "Penny" Cameron, only child of William S. (1923-1976) and Audrey J. (?) Cameron, was born 1944 Michigan.  Penny's mother at one time worked for Bell Telephone System.  Her father, William, was a World War II Army Air Corp veteran who had a career with the State of Michigan, Secretary of State office.  Penny was a 1961 graduate of Okemos High School.  She graduated from Lansing Community College and was employed by Bell Telephone in Washington, D.C.  One 11 May 1968 Penny was killed in an auto accident in Maryland.  She was interred Riverview Cemetery, Seymour, Jackson County, Indiana.

EX-LANSING BELL WORKER CRASH VICTIM

Arlington, Va. -  Miss Mary Lee (Penny) Cameron, 23, of Arlington, Va., and formerly of East Lansing, was killed Saturday in an automobile accident in Maryland.

Miss Cameron was employed by the Bell Telephone System in Washington, D.C., and had worked for Michigan Bell in Lansing.  She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William S. Cameron, 308 Michigan, East Lansing.

A 1961 Okemos High School graduate, Miss Cameron was graduated from Lansing Community College and also attended Central Michigan University.

other survivors include her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J. William Cameron, Chicago, and her grandmother, Mrs. Clara B. Smith, Seymour, Indiana.

Services will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Voss Funeral Home in Seymour, Ind.

A memorial service is being planned in St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Lansing, at a time to be announced.
