Marian Louise Ewing, daughter of Shannon Melville (1877-1951) and Jennie Catherine (Gray) (1891-1976) Ewing, was born 1 June 1924 Jackson County, Michigan. She graduated in 1943 from Okemos High School and married 13 October 1943 Raymond John Westra, East Lansing, Ingham County, Michigan.

Mrs. Westra was Miss Marian Ewing before her marriage October 13 in McCune chapel of Peoples church, East Lansing, to Warrant Officer Westra. She is the daughter of Shannon M. Ewing, R. 2, and he is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jule N. Westra of Grand Rapids. The bride is remaining with her parents and the bridegroom has returned to his station at Drew field, Tampa, Fla.

Raymond, born 29 August 1920 Kent County, Michigan, was a US Army veteran of World War II. He died 20 March 2006, Michigan. Raymond was interred Fort Custer National Cemetery, Augusta, Kalamazoo County, Michigan.
