Evelyn Lorraine Ball (Bennett) - Class Of 1943

Evelyn Lorraine Ball, daughter of Ernest J. (1903-1974) and Mabel S. (Jones) (1908-1975) Ball, was born 28 November 1925 Michigan.  She graduated in 1943 from Okemos High School.  Evelyn married Otto Clare "Ike" Bennett 12 October 1945 Williamston, Ingham County, Michigan.  Ike was a World War II Army veteran.

IONIA GUARDSMEN TO DEPART FRIDAY

Company H, 126th Infantry Will Be Stationed At Pineville, La.

IONIA, Oct. 19 - Company H. 126th Infantry, now stationed at Ionia, will complete recruit drilling and organization next week preparatory to leaving for Camp Tiogo, Pineville, La., on Friday afternoon, October 25.

Capt. Albert B. Cook, commanding officer, said today that six enlisted men and failed to pass their physical examinations.  As a result the company was left with 94 men and 4 officers.  Authorized total strength is 123, which quota will probably be filled from draft ranks, the captain added.

MARRIAGE ANNOUNCED

Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Ball, R. 1, Okemos, announce the marriage of their daughter, Evelyn, to Otto Clare Bennett, son of Mr. and Mrs. Roger Bennett of Williamston.  The marriage took place October 12 at Williamston.

Ike, born 15 October 1924 Williamston, died 19 October 2003 Mecosta County, Michigan.  Evelyn died 21 April 2012.  Ike and Evelyn were interred Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, DeWitt, Clinton County, Michigan.
