Shirley Mae Everett, daughter of Reuben W. (1900-1960) and Gladys A. (Gubber) (1904-1997) Everett, was born 5 December 1925 Ingham County, Michigan. She graduated in 1943 from Okemos High School.
Shirley married thrice: Russell Leroy Pennell 1945, Jack DeCamp 1965 and Joseph Lacchia 1978. Shirley and Russell, born 6 January 1919, died 19 October 2005, were divorced. Jack, owner of DeCamp Shoe Store in East Lansing, and Shirley were married in 1976. Jack, born 20 December 1905, died 20 August 1976. Shirley married Joseph F. Lacchia in 1978. Joseph, born 12 December 1903 New York, died 20 January 1999. Shirley interred Jack in Woodlawn Cemetery, Leslie, Ingham County. Joseph was interred St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Lansing.
Shirley died 18 February 2010 DeWitt, Clinton County. She was interred with Joseph, St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Lansing.

Shirley, 84, of East Lansing, died in the early morning hours on Thursday, surrounded by her loved ones at her son's home in DeWitt, MI.
She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph F. Lacchia; brother, Loren Everett; sister Joan Cole; and previous husbands Jack DeCamp and Russell Pennell. She is survived by her children Tom Pennell and Rebecca Pennell-Starks; sister Monna Gilbert of Mesa, AZ; brother; Duane Everett of Lansing; stepchildren, Joseph F. Lacchia, Thomas Lacchia and Bill Palmer all of whom live in California, Dave DeCamp of Indiana and Jim DeCamp of Colorado; grandchildren, Isobel Pennell, Don Jordan, Gary Ketchum, Teresa Pallas, Scott Ketchum and Crystal Starks. Shirley was a compassionate, giving and caring person who positively touched the life of all of those she met and she will be sorely missed by her children, stepchildren, grandchildren, and her many friends.
Shirley was a lifelong resident of Ingham County having been born to Reuben and Gladys Everett of Okemos, MI. Shirley attended Okemos High School and immediately after graduation Shirley began working for REO, a company which built military vehicles used in WWII. In 1945 Shirley married Russell Pennell and bore 2 children from that marriage; Thomas Pennell, (1947) and Rebecca (1950). Shirley was an accountant and worked for the City of East Lansing and for the East Lansing State Bank, retiring in 1979. Shirley married Jack DeCamp in 1965 and enjoyed many happy years traveling until Jack died in 1977. Shirley and Joseph Lacchia, a widower himself, at the East Lansing State Bank commiserated about the deaths of their beloveds. Joseph and Shirley were married in 1978 and enjoyed a wonderful life together until Joe's death in 1999. Shirley continued to maintain her beautiful home in East Lansing in the Cahill Gardens Subdivision until her death. Shirley took great pride in her home and all the neighbors are aware that it is one the finest homes in the area. Starting in 2002 Shirley was instrumental in the erection of a beautiful Bed and Breakfast built in DeWitt, MI just off Round Lake Road with her son, Thomas Pennell. Shirley took pride in decorating the B & B and her knack for interior design is evident throughout the property.
