Kenneth John Whiting, son of Alfred B. "Phil" (1885-1951) and Nova U. (Smith) (1890-1968) Whiting, was born 13 October 1925 Okemos, Ingham County, Michigan. He graduated in 1943 from Okemos High School and went on to also graduate from Michigan State College. He married Dorothea Ann Rohrback 23 April 1949 Lansing, Ingham County. Dorothea was born 21 July 1926.

Kenneth's mother's 1968 obituary recorded Kenneth and family living in California. As of 2016 he and Dorothea were still living in the Oceanside, California area.
