Roy M. Laycock, son of Harold Joe (1891-1967) and Vernice Ruth (Hulett) (1891-1970) Laycock, was born 31 January 1917 Mason, Ingham County, Michigan. He graduated in 1934 from Okemos High School. Roy married Marjorie Elaine Kirby 18 May 1936.

ANNOUNCE MARRIAGE
Mr. and Mrs. John Kirby announce the marriage of their daughter, Marjorie Elaine, to Roy M. Laycock, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Laycock of Okemos. the wedding took place May 18. Miss Kirby was a graduate of Mason high school with the class of 1934, and Mr. Laycock attended Okemos high school, graduating in the same year. They have returned from a trip through the east and are at home to their friends at Park lake.
Roy was employed by the United State Postal Service. He died 20 September 1962. Marjorie, born 10 February 1916 Michigan, died 25 October 2001 Cincinnati, Hamilton County, Ohio. Roy and Marjorie were interred Evergreen Cemetery, Lansing, Ingham County.

LETTER CARRIER DIES IN HOSPITAL
Roy M. Laycock, 45, of 301 N. Clemens ave., an employee of the Lansing postal system for the past 14 years, died Thursday morning in a local hospital.
He had served in various capacities during his postal career and for the past few years had been a carrier on various mail routes on Lansing's south side.
Born in Mason in 1917, he had been a resident of Lansing for the past 26 years and attended the First Baptist church.
Active in mail carrier's activities, he was an officer of the Michigan Association of Letter Carriers and was associated with the National Association of Letter Carriers.
Surviving are the widow, Marjorie E.; one daughter, Judith E. of Lansing; son, Robert R. of Lansing; two sisters, Mrs. Lucille Smith of Leslie, and Mrs. Phyllis Droscha of Mason; and one brother, Lyle Laycock of Mason.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 8 p.m. form the Gorsline-Runciman funeral home.
