Frederick L. "Fred" Miles - Class Of 1930

Frederick L. "Fred" Miles, son of Vern H. (1885-1970) and Viola (Letts) (1887-1980) Miles, was born 30 October 1910 Mason, Ingham County, Michigan.  He graduated from Okemos High School in 1930 and briefly attended business school in Lansing.  On 18 June 1932 Steuben County, Indiana, Fred married fellow OHS alumni Delsie Ann Ratzloff.  Fred was associated with the Standard Oil Company for many years, first operating a company gas station in Holt, Ingham County, Michigan in the early 1930's.

Delsie, born 6 May 1911, died 28 August 1999.  Fred died 17 July 2004.  Fred and Delsie were interred Glendale Cemetery.  Fred's parents were also interred Glendale Cemetery.

MILES, FREDERICK L.

DIMONDALE, MI

Age 93, was born October 30, 1910 and died July 17, 2004, at New Haven Foster Care in Dimondale.  He retired from Standard Oil in 1968 after 35 years of service and was a retired volunteer of the Windsor Township Fire Department.  Mr. Miles was a life member of the First Presbyterian Church of Dimondale, life member and Past Master of the Dimondale F. & A.M. #449 and life member and Past Patron of Dimondale O.E.S. #363.  Fred enjoyed many years of retirement in Florida and at the cottage at Horsehead Lake in Michigan.  His wife of 67 years, Delsie, died in 1999.  Surviving are his daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn and Bob Ramont of Dimondale; 2 grandsons, Mike Ramont of Obetz, OH and Todd Ramont of Lansing; 2 great-granddaughters, Kristal and April Ramont of Obetz, OH; great-great-granddaughters, Kristal and April Ramont of Obetz, OH; great-great-grandchildren; nieces, Eleanor (Mike) Heinrick of Webberville, Doris (Bob) Weber of Mason; great-nephew, Bob Weber, Jr.  Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Field & Leik Funeral Home, Dimondale, with Pastor David Braak officiating.  Interment will be in Glendale Cemetery, Okemos
