Jennie Mae Becker (Barron) - Class Of 1930 VIEW PROFILE

Jennie Mae Becker, daughter of Oscar J. "O.J." (1888-1977) and Nellie Edith (Bray) (1888-1971) Becker, was born 29 January 1912 Michigan.  She graduated in 1930 from Okemos High School.  Jennie went on to attend Taylor University, Merrill Palmer School in Detroit and then graduate from Michigan State College.  She married Allan Ernest Barron 1 September 1938 Okemos, Ingham County, Michigan.  Allan was a graduate of Western State Teachers College.

OKEMOS TEACHERS UNITED IN MARRIAGE

Okemos, Sept. 6  - Miss Jennie Becker and Allan Barron were married at the Community church Thursday at noon by the Rev. M. E. Hoyt, pastor.

Mrs. Hoyt played the familiar wedding music just preceding the reading of the vows in the presence of a few intimate friends.

Mrs. O. J. Becker, Mrs. Baron's mother, was hostess to 16 guests at the wedding breakfast at the Becker farm home.

Both the bride and bridegroom have been members of the Grand Ledge school faculty, where Mr. Barron will continue to teach.

The bride is a graduate of the Okemos school and of Michigan State college.  Mr. Barron was formerly of South Haven.

Jennie died 17 July 1976 Wyandotte, Wayne County, Michigan.  Allan, born 16 April 1914, died 9 October 1989 Wayne County.  Allan, Jennie and her parents were interred Glendale Cemetery, Okemos.

Died July 17, 1976 in Wyandotte.  Surviving are her husband Allan E. of Wyandotte; 2 daughters, Mrs. William J. Skocpol, Cambridge, Mass. and Mrs. Douglas A. Colbert of Fayetteville, West Virginia; 1 sister, Mrs. Neil O. Barrick of Keyes, Oklahoma.  Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at the Gorsline-Runciman East Chapel, East Lansing.  Interment at Glendale Cemetery, Okemos.
